2022 Honda BR-V debuts in Indonesia, to launch in Malaysia soon
The all-new 2022 Honda BR-V has been launched in Indonesia today in a digital world premiere. The new 7-seater rivals the Mitsubishi Xpander in Indonesia and will rival the Perodua Aruz when it reaches Malaysia.
The 2022 Honda BR-V is launched in four variants, with all variants powered by the same 1.5-litre engine. Power is transmitted to the front wheels either via a CVT or a 5-speed manual gearbox.

Compared to the current Honda BR-V in Malaysia, the 2022 Honda BR-V sports a more aggressive look. Performance-wise, the Honda BR-V ditches the old 1.5-litre SOHC engine to now share the same DOHC 1.5-litre engine (121 PS/145 Nm) a the GN2 Honda City that we get in Malaysia.
On the outside, the all-new 2022 Honda BR-V gets LED headlights with LED daytime running lights. In its range-topping 'Prestige' variant, the Honda BR-V sits on 17-inch alloy wheels.
Convenient features in the all-new 2022 Honda BR-V include Remote-Engine-Start (with AC), walk-away auto lock, Honda LaneWatch, and Smart Entry System.
For the first time, the Honda BR-V is equipped with Honda Sensing and gets full airbags (current BR-V only gets dual front airbags). The Honda Sensing suite includes
- Lead Car Departure Notification System (LCDN)
- Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS)
- Road Departure Mitigation (RDM)
- Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)
- Auto-High Beam
5 colour options are available for the Honda BR-V in Indonesia, namely Premium Opal White Pearl, Crystal Black Pearl, Modern Steel Metallic, Lunar SIlver Metallic, and Taetta White. The 2022 Honda BR-V is expected to arrive in Malaysia next year.
