Porsche Mission R concept unveiled- A Taycan & 911 fusion with 1,073 PS and 2.5 s 0-100 km/h time
Porsche has unveiled the Porsche Mission R concept today at the IAA Mobility 2021 in Munich. As a concept car, the Porsche Mission R showcases how technologically advanced future Porsche electric cars may be like.
Technologically, the Porsche Mission R boasts a 900-volt architecture that allows for 340-kW DC fast charging. With that, the Mission R’s 80-kWh battery can be charged from 5 to 80% in just 15 minutes. Porsche calls this the “Porsche Turbo Charging”
Performance wise, the Porsche Mission R has a maximum system power output of 1,073 PS (in “qualifying mode”).
The front motor generates 429 PS of max. power while the rear motor generates 653 PS of maximum power
0-100 km/h acceleration is done in a whopping 2.5 seconds and the Mission R reaches top speeds of over 300 km/h.
Showcased in race-car-guise, the Porsche Mission R is Porsche’s vision of their all-electric customer motorsports. The Porsche Mission R is 4,326 mm long, 1,990 mm wide, and 1,190 mm tall.
“The Mission R embodies everything that makes Porsche strong: performance, design and sustainability." Says Oliver Blume, Chairman of the Executive Board of Porsche AG.
The body, front spoiler lip, diffuser, and side skirts of the Porsche Mission R is made of natural fibre reinforced plastic (NFRP).
On the inside, an ergonomically placed display between the controls on the steering wheel shows relevant data during the race.
The monitor above the steering column shows the images from the side mirror cameras and the central rear-view mirror camera.
With the Mission R project, Porsche is bringing real and virtual racing closer together than ever before. The monocoque driver's module in exactly the same form also doubles as an esports simulator.
A touch display to the right of the seat can be used to call up the driver's biometric data, for instance. Numerous other cameras in the interior can be used to provide exciting sequences for a live stream transmission.
